ERASMUS POLICY STATEMENT 2021 – 2027
Celje School of Economics, Vocational College
Celje School of Economics, Vocational College has always strived for the best possible education for our students. It is important for both students and lecturers to be included into international projects and to cooperate with partners at home and abroad. Domestic and foreign partners are therefore part of our educational process. We will achieve the so-called internationality of school with connecting new institutions of tertiary educational process with mobility of students and lecturers.
In the Long-Term Development Program for the period 2018-2023, which was discussed by the lecturer assembly of the Vocational College and the Strategic Council of the Vocational College, and was approved by the Council of the Celje School of Economics on 12 February 2018, the strategy of internationalization of the Vocational College is also included.
International cooperation is important for our educational institution, as it provides guidance on how to adapt to a rapidly changing world and the changing needs of the labor market. It improves our insight into the European educational area, improves the quality of education and promotes language learning. The goal of internationalization is to strengthen the visibility of the institution in the international environment.
The main areas of internationalization of our institution are:
- mobility of students and staff;
- focus on priority regions and countries
- international research and development cooperation, and
- development of intercultural competences.
As part of the internationalization of our institution, we have put our focus on the following priority regions and countries: cooperation with institutions in neighbouring countries (Euro-Mediterranean countries) and in the countries of the Western Balkans.
Participation in Erasmus+ programs will enable us to achieve these goals through an international exchange of students, lecturers and other staff of the higher vocational school.
Educational systems will be compared and gained qualifications will be recognized as good practice and therefore conveyed into performing of educational process. Introducing modern learning methods and skills (especially digital), improving and expanding applied knowledge will increase quality of educational system
Due to the specifics of higher education, we will focus on the Student mobility for traineeships. Through mobility, students will gain new experiences, skills and innovative knowledge needed for their employment in the international labour market. They will be able to share good practices and improve their communication skills with business partners. Linking higher education and business is important for excellence and regional Development – especially by performing student placement in foreign companies. From our perspective this is seen as a great advantage which will benefit students as references in domestic competitive labour market
We will encourage the incoming mobility of foreign experts from our partner institutions. They will participate in the implementation of professional subjects, specific skills (with a focus on digital skills) and languages. This will also ensure stimulating student surroundings. Students of our institution who will not be able to take part in the Erasmus mobility due to the limited number of grants will benefit from the lectures given by the lecturers from Erasmus partner institutions.
We will contribute to the vision of the Commission towards a European Education Area, especially in:
- spending time abroad to study and learn should become the norm –
EŠ Celje: with the mobility of students and staff.
- knowing two languages in addition to one’s mother tongue should be standard –
EŠ Celje: to practise at least one language.
people should have a strong sense of their identity as a European, of Europe’s cultural heritage and its diversity EŠ Celje: through mobility in EU countries, they will learn on the one hand about the diversity and on the other hand about the equalityof the European cultural, historical and economic place.
